Winter Reminiscing: Fly Fishing Bristol County, RI

Updated: Apr 22, 2019

Winter can be a melancholy time for anglers. Many of us use this period of piscatorial inactivity to prepare for the coming season. We tie flies, clean equipment, repair waders and prepare leaders, but when all these tasks are done we are still left yearning for the opportunity to wet a line.

In our quest to seek something that can satisfy our longing to feel that tell-tale “tug” at the end of our line we often turn to the experiences of other. We seek out articles and videos and live vicariously through the tales and recordings of others. It is an all too obvious solution to a seasonally recurring matter of boredom and pining.

There is; however, another solution to winter’s deprivation of our angling pursuits. In addition to a healthy dose of fly-fishing content, we can also reflect on the past seasons memories and give thanks for the time that we were able to spend on the water.

As we awaiting the coming of spring the crew at S.K.S Adventures is reminded of a fishing trip to Bristol County, RI. The photographs were taken for an upcoming article in Eastern Fly Fishing Magazine. Though no fish were documented, the following images are a testament to the natural beauty of New England’s coastal waters as well as a reminder to cherish all time spent on the water. Enjoy.
