S.K.S Adventures is an informal fly-fishing guide service and blog based in Barrington, RI. Our goal is to make fly-fishing in the Ocean State approachable for new and experienced anglers alike. 

 

We specialize in fly fishing for striped bass in Rhode Island’s East Bay. Unlike a charter service we don’t use boats. We find the tidal rivers, outlets, coves, and beaches of the East Bay to be an intimate fishery best explored on foot. We also fish using traditional trout and salmon techniques. Like salmonoids, striped bass enjoy current. They use the currents formed by the tide to feed, making dead drifts and swings highly effective presentation styles. 

 

We also don’t have set outing types. When a client wants to fish with us the first step is to co-design an outing that custom fits the client’s experience level, availability, and fishing interests. 

 

New to fly-fishing? We’ll incorporate a beginners casting lesson into the outing before hitting the water. A seasoned angler, but new to the East Bay? We’ll leverage your existing fly fishing skills to design an experience that will both challenge and introduce you to this wonderfully fishery. Have children? We’ll keep the outing fun and educational with nature walks and wildlife lessons. Once we have designed your ideal outing costs are calculated using an hourly per person rate.
